RT Morley Competition Rules as ratified by the committee 2007

Golfers playing in Halifax, Huddersfield & District Rabbit Golf Association competitions may use Distance Measuring Devices that are limited to providing distance information only, and only on Golf Courses that have a Local Rule allowing them to be used.

The competition is an individual Knockout Competition played off yello markers. It is open to 8 members from each club, who must be full playing members of that club, over the age of 18 and have a handicap of above 15.5 on the date of entry to the competition and have played at least 3 Qualifying Competitions in the previous 12 months immediately PRIOR to 1st April. This is represented on the handicap certificate by a Q in the identidy code column

Full Handicap certificates must be produced before playing in the competition. Failing to do so will result in the foreiting of the match

The competition is match play, played off full handicap difference to the Rules of Golf, as amended by the local rules of the home course.

Strokes to be received where indicated on the score Card of the host club and matches are to be played to a finish.

Players drawn out first in the Preliminary Round shall have home advantage, and thereafter home advantage will be shown on the draw sheet up to the semi finals.


Semi Finals to be played at a neutral venue on the same day where possible

The Final will be played on Finals Day at the President's home course

In the drawn rounds where Opponents are known it is the responsibility of both players to make contact and they should make every effort to arrange matches at the earliest opportunity within the allotted time frame for each round.Problems in the organisation of matches should be notified to the Competition co-ordinator immediately.

If no agreement can be reached as to when a match can be played, then said players shall present themselves on the tee by 6-00pm at the latest on the final day designated. Failing to do so will result in forfeiture of the match by any person failing to meet this requirement. If no result has been received by the competition co-ordinator within 24 hours of the final deadline then both parties will be deemed to have not met the relevant requirements and be scratched from the competition.

NO EXTENSION OF THE DUE DATE WILL BE ALLOWED. Winners must notify the co-ordinator of the result of matches as soon as they have been played.

Players should ensure that the co-ordinator has their correct telephone number when phoning through their match results. Players should not delay in contacting their opponents.

Any dispute must be referred within 24 hours to the section co-ordinator, who will make his decision, after referring to the Committee, if it is necessary Disputes over the Rules of Golf must be settled in accordance with Rule 3.5. The co-ordinator's decisions ais final, and entries are accepted on this proviso.

Player's whose handicaps are reduced below 15.5 after entry, are allowed to continue in the competition, playing off their current handicap.

The dates by which each round must be played and names and telephone numbers of the section co-ordinators will be included on the draw sheet.

"Players who reach (or play in) the semi finals / final will be required to have played 2 of their 3 qualifying competitions within 2 months of the semi final date. With handicap certificates to verify compliance"

The winners shall receive the Trophy and a prize. There will also be prizes for the runner up and the beaten semi finalists.
